Table 1 Peripheral blood leukocyte differential counts in male and female mice. Blood samples were collected into heparinized containers from male and female mice via cardiac, tail, and saphenous punctures. Blood smears were prepared and stained with the Wright stain. Leukocyte differential counts were determined by using a 40× objective lens of a light microscope. The monocyte counts were 2 ± 1 and are not shown on the table. Data expressed as mean ± SEM. * p ≤ 0.05 as comparison made between male and female. n represents the number of mice.
